Vinasse is the industrial waste of alcohol distilleries where they employ biotechnological methods on Molasses Vinasse contains 93% water and 7% of dry matter which includes insoluble materials.

Vinasse is also rich in nutrients such as Phosphates and Nitrates which play an important role in plants growth. Vinasse is a non-hazardous waste as it is free of heavy metals. Currently Methane with 40 to 60% purity is extracted from Vinasse using the biological waste refinery methods and anaerobic bioreactors.
